1 – Leave your kitchen and bed cleaned every morning
Imagine you come home after full day of work and you find cleaned kitchen and bed. There is a saying that if you want to successful, order your bed every morning. I agree, and I would add also to order your kitchen too. Once you return home, you can start doing new activites and you don’t feel depressed to catch up your laziness from the morning. You start your evening fresh.
2 – Go local and go bio
Take care of yourself and fuel your body with the best. Getting seasonal and biological food was the best change I did for myself. I just found on google a bio local farm that sells their vegetable and fruits. Most of them do a delivery to local towns and villages. I do this for a few reasons: First, good quality biological products. Often, you can visit the farm and meet people personally. You support local family companies. Second, prices can be also lower than in supermarket, because of the costs of logistics, supermarket rents and so on. In this case you take food directly from the producer. Third, food is fresher, seasonal and full of vitamins. They take the order, go to their field, collects requested veggies and the other day they deliver you all. Fourth, you save time for shopping and you get the delivery directly to your home.
3 – Eat rainbow. Eat plants. Don’t skip any meal!
Try to focus on eating a lot vegetables and fruits of different colors, whole-grain foods, nuts and legumes. You might be vegetarian, plant-based, vegan or follow some other diet. What is more important is to avoid processed food – white sugar, white rice and flours, ready frozen meals, sweets. Eat simple and healthy. Another rule I would add, is do not skip any meal. If you are not an early bird, prepare and take your breakfast to the office. Eat less but more often. And combine raw vegetables with cooked dishes.
4 – Save plastic and shop with your jars
Check around your house, there might be some bio shops where you can bring your jars directly. They will just fill your jars. I love these shops and its a therapy for me to shop there. I buy all kinds of tea, eggs, legumes, herbs for cooking, wines, spices, flour… Apart from having a good quality product you reduce the plastic waste also.
5 – Set your little goals. Organise your day.
Knowing your objectives is not only about setting a yearly or lifetime goals. Set your goals on a daily and weekly bases too. Sometimes I even plan the whole week menu before, so I know exactly what to buy. It helps me to organise myself better and to avoid stress. Starting from your year goal, splitting it into months, week, you will understand what to do in every single day. In this case, you can nicely organize your week, understand your priorities and find a time also for your hobbies.
6 – Get the hobby that makes you happy and proud of yourself
You spend most of your daily time at work, so there is very little time after, for your personal hobbies. Use it wisely. Find a hobby that really fulfils you and makes you happy. For me it’s blogging, cooking and photography. I don’t care to wake up every day at 5:30 to write a blog post or edit my photos. I love it and it makes me happy. Having some extra activities apart from your job helps you also in better time-management and push you to be efficient at work too. So its a win-win situation.
7 – Plant some plants
Surround yourself with green. Plant some plants, learn how to take care of them. It has many advantages: they clean the air, make your house more cozy, and green colour helps you to relax. I think, that every child should have a plant to take care of. It gives you a sense of responsibility. The plant depends on you and your care. If you think that you are not good with plants, just start with something simple. I promise, seeing it growing, it will make you happy.
8 – Walk, walk and walk again
Walk as much as you can. Park your car further and do a few steps more to reach your office every day. High heals are no excuse, just get some extra sneakers in your bag. Do not take a bus for 2 or 3 stops in the city. Just walk. Go 10 minutes before your appoitment so you have enough time for a few steps. You will find out about new shops, maybe you finally find your super dreamy shoes or bag. Walking is so important for your health. Honestly ask yourself, how much do you walk every day? Is it 4 km or only 2? Do you know that you should walk 11 km every day? I am honest here and this point is still a challenge for me too, but I try my best every single day.
9 – Excercise regularly
This is one the rules for happy mind but also for happy and healthy body too. Find out what you like and stick with it. If you like walking, running, excercising with weights or pilates, important it just to do something. If you are young, you might think you don’t need it now but your body will thank you in the future. Excercise regularly, minimum once per week. I had different periods in my life when I used to go to a gym 4 times per week. Currently, as I do not have much time, I do my little workouts of 15-20 minutes 2 or 3 times per week at home. One day I use weights, the other time I am rope-jumping or cycling.
10 – Stop complaining about no time
I don’t believe when people say they have no time. I believe they might not have enough motivation or enough energy or maybe wrong habits that steals the time from them. You wish to learn new language, write new articles for my blog or excercise. Do not put yourself in a second priority, you are the most important person to focus on. 15 minutes every day is enough for learning new language or for an excercise. Of course you will not progress in a light speed, but it’s better than nothing at all. Waking up earlier for some extra time, listening language podcasts while walking, carry some book with you for some ideas for the articles, or any other way that works for you.
