Berries – Raspberries, Blueberries, Strawberries, etc..

You can use berries as a garnish too, fresh or frozen will be a beautiful decoration.

Before using frozen berries, pierce them while they are fresh and freeze them together with a cocktail stick.

You can use berries on a cocktail stick, or place them directly into the cocktail.

Any other fruits

If you prepare cocktails based on some fruits, use this as a decoration. You can decorate Pina Colada with a pineapple for example.

There are no limits to what you can use, so be creative with garnishes too.

Herbs and flowers

Herbs are always a great choice, use mint, rosemary, basil, sage, cilantro, thyme, lavender…

Using flowers is a gorgeous decoration, make sure the flowers are edible. You can grow them by yourself, of find them on internet, for example on amazon.

Cocktail cherries or olives

Cocktail cherries can be bought in supermarket, and can be a nice garnish for many cocktails too.

There might be a few types of Cocktail cherries, and the choice you will have, will depends on the country you live in.

There are Maraschino cherries, Amarena Cherries, or any other cocktail cherries available.

You can use olives as a garnish for martini cocktail for example.

When buying olives, pay attention to the size, and avoid getting olives that are too big – for a smaller glass, or the opposite, when you have a small olive in a larger glass.


Ice itself can be the only garnish you can use sometimes.

Round, square, long & tall, depends on your creativity. You can get many forms to create a different shapes of ice.

You can also freeze flowers, herbs or fruit inside the ice and add it in cocktails.

Chocolate or spices

Grated chocolate or spices will add lots of texture to the foamy surface of the drink, the choice will depends on the cocktail and its ingredients.

These garnishes are the best if you want to capture a movement in your images.
