Here they are, the right resources to help you with Photoshop retouching!

Photoshop really is a game changer and it’s a necessary skill to master in food photography! But I know how difficult and scary Photoshop feels. I have created a course where you can build your skills from scratch. The lessons are very detailed and they cover everything: from the basics to advanced retouching. The lessons are constantly added step by step, so make sure to keep an eye on this :)

You can bookmark this page or save it as a link, that way you can return to it anytime you need! After you finish learning from these resources and you wish to improve another area, just return to the quiz anytime to get new and fresh resources to dive in!

Start with the basic retouching tools

The first thing in Photoshop is to understand how to use the clone stamp tool and Spot removal brush tool. These are the two simple but very powerful tools you will use most of the time.

So, your tasks will be to:

  • open your image in Photoshop
  • create a background copy (drag your background into + icon you see below your layers)
  • take a Clone stamp tool or a Spot removal brush tool and play with them.

This is a bit more difficult to explain how to do it, but trust me, these two tools are the ones you want to start with. They are very simple and very effective tools. I recommend accessing my Members' Club, where I created a very insightful course about Retouching.

Learn how to create a simple composite

Composites are simpler than you thing and this is something that even a beginner can learn easily how to do it. And this is the second step I always advice to someone who is starting in Photoshop and want to learn new and game-changer things :)

Composites will change your workflow completely, and they will make your life so much easier. To explain more about composites, I would need to show you how to do them. Again, you can learn about them in our Club, so use this opportunity and join me there.

Learn how to create stop motions & GIFS

To give you another step of the third most important thing to learn in Photoshop is how to create stop motions & GIFS. it's really simple - however the process of importing images is a bit different.

Again, I recommend accessing our course in the Club to see how you can create stop motions & GIFS.
